Job summary

Niuro in New York is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical design of manipulation hardware for humanoid robots in industrial settings. You will own arms, chassis, and subsystems from first principles to prototyping and production deployment.

Collaborate with controls, electrical and firmware teams to ensure responsive, well-sensed robotic behavior on hardware, while optimizing torque density, stiffness and reliability under rigorous conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and shipping electromechanical hardware or robotic mechanisms.
• Strong GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis skills.
• Proven track record taking complex mechanical assemblies from concept to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of robotic arms and manipulators end-to-end.
• Design drivetrains and joints, optimizing torque density, weight, stiffness, and reliability.
• Integrate motors, gearing, bearings, sensors into manufacturable assemblies.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, structural analyses, and fastener selections.
• Prototype with additive manufacturing and precision machining.
• Collaborate with controls, firmware, and electrical teams for integrated systems.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly with suppliers.
