Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to design, develop, and deliver mechanical components and systems for next generation products. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into manufacturable designs that meet customer needs and business requirements.

In this role you will create 3D CAD models, perform GD&T and FEA analyses, support DFM/DFA, and mentor junior engineers while driving continuous improvement in design processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with prototyping and scaling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design projects from concept through production, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturing constraints.
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Conduct engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs against product requirements.
• Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during development and production phases.
• Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes.
• Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
