Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to develop innovative hardware for automated systems used in fulfillment centers. You will design sheetmetal, weldments, and high‑volume assemblies while ensuring tolerance and reliability across production runs.

You’ll use SolidWorks for concept and detail design, evaluate fit and function, and work with controls and sensors integration to deliver robust hardware solutions within project constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• SolidWorks or similar CAD for part design and assemblies; evaluate fit and function.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to work with autonomy on ambiguous requirements.
• Experience selecting off-the-shelf components for mechanical designs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team from concept to production.
• Coordinate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality for smooth product launches.
• Write functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
• Demonstrate thorough engineering analysis and ownership of designs from concept to production support.
• Independently design hardware solutions for ambiguous problems with fluid requirements.
• Integrate commercially available components with automation controls and sensors.
