Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive the design, development, and launch of novel robotics hardware. You will lead mechanical architecture, electromechanical integration, and vendor coordination, shaping automation at scale.

You will collaborate across teams for design reviews, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing handoff, contributing to safe, scalable robotic solutions in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Experience creating functional specs, verification plans, and test procedures.
• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing complex mechanical products at volume.
• 5+ years in mechanical design of electromechanical systems.
• Strong 3D CAD proficiency with large assemblies.
• DFM/DFA, GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Vendor management for precision machined or injection-molded components.

Responsibilities

• Define mechanical requirements and allocate to components; perform trade studies.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and controls engineers on integration, routing, and thermal management.
• Lead CAD design, tolerance stack-ups, FEA, and design reviews.
• Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems.
• Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments.
• Coordinate with external partners on statements of work, design reviews, and deliverables.
• Drive DFM/DFA and work with contract manufacturers to move from prototype to production.
