Job summary

Simplexity Product Development seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional teams and bring complex robotic and electromechanical systems into production. You will align R&D with manufacturing to establish robust processes, from prototypes through pilot production to sustaining operations.

The role requires 8+ years in manufacturing or hardware quality, with expertise in transfer, FMEA, control plans, and Lean methods.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in manufacturing, hardware quality, or NPI with technical leadership.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and transferring robotic systems to production.
• Knowledge of castings and injection molding.
• Experience with defect tracking, FMEA, control plans, and reliability testing.
• Experience with assembly, calibration, end-of-line testing processes.
• Working knowledge of Lean, DFx, traceability, configuration control.
• Strong communication, analytical, program-management and tradeoff skills.
• Ethical leadership and client-focused approach.
• Pluses: FEA experience; robotics product launches; robotics safety practices; certification like PMP/ASQ/Lean Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Translate customer and system requirements into quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturing-readiness plans.
• Bridge R&D and manufacturing to transfer robotic products and processes to production.
• Define risk-management strategies using defect tracking, root-cause analysis, FMEA, control plans, verification and validation.
• Define and monitor manufacturing metrics such as defect escape, uptime, yield, and throughput.
• Apply SPC and process-capability methods across assembly, calibration, test, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Develop and qualify assembly processes, production equipment, tooling, fixtures, calibration stations, and end-of-line test systems.
• Lead system-integration investigations and resolve field, supplier, or manufacturing failures.
• Qualify manufacturing sites and suppliers for process capability and quality.
• Drive manufacturability, assembly, calibration, testability, reliability, serviceability, and cost decisions across subsystems.
• Manage program priorities, budgets, technical risks, and stakeholder communication.
• Support on-site work in the Seattle metro area and travel to manufacturing locations as needed.
