Job summary

Simplexity Product Development in Seattle seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional teams in bringing complex robotic systems into production. You will connect R&D, systems engineering, quality, supply chain, test, and manufacturing to establish robust production processes that are safe, reliable, and cost-effective.

This role emphasizes manufacturability, process control, defect reduction, and scalable transfer from prototypes through pilot production and sustaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, hardware quality, NPI, process engineering, or operations with technical leadership.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and transferring robotic or complex electromechanical systems into production.
• Strong understanding of actuators, transmissions, sensors, electronics, batteries, wiring, structures, and safety systems.
• Familiar with DFx, FMEA, control plans, traceability, Lean manufacturing, and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Translate customer and system requirements into quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturing-readiness plans.
• Bridge R&D and manufacturing to transfer scalable robotic products from prototypes through pilot production and sustaining operations.
• Define risk-management strategies using defect tracking, root-cause analysis, FMEA, and verification activities.
• Define and monitor manufacturing metrics such as defect escape, uptime, yield, and cost.
• Apply SPC and process-capability methods across assembly, calibration, test, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Develop and qualify assembly processes, production equipment, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and end-of-line test systems.
• Lead system-integration investigations and resolve failures.
• Qualify manufacturing sites and suppliers for process capability and quality.
