Job summary

Welo Data in Santa Clara is seeking a Senior Manager, Robotics Lab Operations to run the floor and own day-to-day execution across our robotics labs.

This hands-on production leadership role is on site, on the floor, and accountable for on-time delivery, quality, and safety. You will build the management structure for a 100+ hourly team with clear standards and sustained performance.

Responsibilities include staffing, shift coverage, and reporting to clients with data-backed updates.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in operations, production, or manufacturing management; 3+ years managing managers.
• Direct experience leading 100+ hourly employees onsite in a production environment.
• Experience running multi-shift operations with scheduling and handoffs.
• Strong track record owning KPIs: throughput, quality, utilization, labor cost.
• Experience with workforce planning and employee relations for hourly staff.
• Clear communicator able to report to executives and clients.
• Must be onsite in Santa Clara with flexibility for multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead Leads and Supervisors across shifts; own performance, development, and coverage.
• Oversee 100+ hourly data collection staff, operators, and lab technicians.
• Staffing: headcount planning, scheduling, attendance, overtime, surge coverage.
• Partner with recruiting on ramps, onboarding, and time-to-productivity.
• Handle performance and employee relations on the floor with HR escalations.
• Build a floor culture with clear standards and low attrition.
• Own daily, weekly, and monthly production targets across lab programs.
• Run the operating cadence: handoffs, standups, huddles, escalation paths.
• Track KPIs and report on output, quality, downtime, and labor efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement; partner with engineering.
