Job summary

Apptronik builds humanoid robots and runs a scalable DevOps platform. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will own and scale our Kubernetes-based infrastructure, manage CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high availability as the robot fleet grows.

You will dive deep—from Linux kernels to network stack—to keep systems reliable and secure. You will work hands-on, design for failure, and implement GitOps delivery, SLOs, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and performance tuning.
• Production experience operating Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Hands-on debugging with tools like strace, tcpdump, ss and perf.

Responsibilities

• Manage and scale Kubernetes on bare metal, VMs and public cloud, including cluster provisioning, networking, storage and upgrades.
• Build the CI/CD infrastructure with build runners, remote build execution, caching, registries, and autoscaling across on‑prem and cloud.
• Design for failure with backups, multi-site recovery, and recovery drills to keep services running when a data center goes down.
• Make change-safe with GitOps delivery and automatic rollback when releases fail health checks.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and build monitoring and alerting around them.
• Debug production issues from Kubernetes down to the kernel and fix root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and write Go/Python tools to automate work.
• Build security into the platform with SSO, RBAC, secrets management, and patched OS images.
• Collaborate with robotics software teams on architecture and production readiness.
• Plan capacity and cost across on‑prem and cloud as the robot fleet grows.
