Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite full time. The primary work location will be at the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI.

The Role

We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to join our Advanced Development team within GM’s new Autonomous Robotics Center (ARC) Organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating electronic systems for advanced automation and robotics applications. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to create innovative solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and safety of our robotic systems.

What You Will Do

• Lead and work on the design and development of robotics systems for advanced automation and manufacturing applications
• Develop and optimize algorithms for robotics perception, navigation, planning, and controls
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, software engineers, and domain experts to integrate robotics systems with hardware and software components
• Develop advanced prototyping, conduct tests and evaluations to validate the performance, reliability, and safety of robotics systems, and iterate designs based on feedback and data analysis
• Participate in design reviews, provide technical insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes
• Work closely with robotics experts and product managers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics engineering, and lead and participate in academic/industrial collaborations
• Generate intellectual property, document results, and publish papers
