Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's Orthopaedics division is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer, Robotics to join DePuy Synthes in Boston, MA. You will lead electrical design of complex electromechanical medical devices and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve robust performance and regulatory readiness.

The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years in regulated medical devices, and hands-on hardware experience including PCB design, DFMA, and fault analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Regulated medical device industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with analog/digital circuitry and PCBAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design, integration, and verification of complex electromechanical subsystems for robotic medical devices.
• Drive IEC 60601 compliance activities with internal teams and external labs.
• Lead root cause investigations and testing with suppliers.
• Provide day-to-day direction and prioritization for development teams.
• Support DV/VV builds and ensure reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
