Job summary

Viam is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to help developers discover the platform, build with it, and learn from the experiences. The role blends software and hardware projects, content creation, and active participation in developer communities, with travel to events and occasional in-person activities.

You’ll join a team expanding on the West Coast and report to the SVP of Product & Education. Strong communication and hands-on technical skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Track record creating high-quality technical content for developers (tutorials, videos, sample projects, workshops, talks).
• Experience as a software engineer shipping and maintaining production software used by real users (Python/Go/C++/TypeScript).
• Ability to scope, build, debug, and iterate on software projects with limited direction.

Responsibilities

• Represent Viam at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and other developer events through speaking and teaching.
• Build creative robotics projects to demonstrate what’s possible with Viam.
• Create technical content (tutorials, videos, demos, talks) from projects.
