Job summary

The role requires a PhD or MS in robotics, 4+ years in related work, and strong C/C++, Matlab, with Python as a plus.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in robotics-related field required or preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Demonstrate intuitive understanding of mechanical phenomena with rigorous analysis.
• Proficient in C/C++, Matlab; Python a plus; hardware-software-mechanism integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own tele-operated motion performance of robotic instruments.
• Extend features and algorithms for new instruments (e.g., cutters, staples).
• Perform risk analysis and safety algorithm implementation with proper documentation for regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to develop fixtures and define test specs for instrument calibration and assembly.
• Provide cross-disciplinary leadership and act as an interface across technical teams.
