Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our transportation service team in Appleton, Wisconsin. The role requires 5+ years of diverse roadway design experience and the ability to support various project types and managers.

The candidate will prepare plans, specs, and cost estimates, create construction drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and coordinate with agencies, utilities, and subconsultants while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required and PE in Wisconsin preferred or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive roadway design experience.
• Ability to work with a team on plans, specs and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects and ensure QA procedures.
• Coordinate with government agencies, utilities and subconsultants.
• Develop milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Mentor and supervise less experienced engineers and support staff.
• Represent the firm in meetings with governmental agencies.
