Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent field of study, and/or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 6-12 months
• Team oriented and able to support a licensed Civil Engineer
• Experience with design software and plan production is a plus
• Willingness to learn company practices and local agency codes

Responsibilities

• Assist design of public infrastructure work including roadway/highway projects per DOT standards
• Provide technical, day-to-day design support to the Project Engineer
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
• Prepare drawings and visual aids
• Create design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, MicroStation, Open Roads
• Follow QA/QC procedures and engineering standards
• Observe construction activities to learn construction methods and translate drawings into the constructed product
• Coordinate with agency staff and internal teams on designs and analyses
• Develop calculations and correspondence using Microsoft Office
