Job summary

Atlas in Duluth, Georgia seeks Roadway Construction Inspectors to support engineers in inspection and testing of highway projects. The role covers complex construction acceptance and materials testing, with some on-call night/weekend work and potential leadership duties on large projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and lead inspectors, perform calculations, review plans, and maintain comprehensive project records while aligning with our safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management with 2 years of related experience.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology with 5 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 7 years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of roadway and structural construction to ensure contract compliance.
• Test soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete for quality and mix.
• Evaluate pavement spreading, rolling, depth, alignment and compaction.
• Inspect roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specs.
• Monitor foundations, culverts, piling, reinforcement, steel, concrete, and backfill.
• Monitor installation and maintenance of traffic and erosion control devices.
• Perform calculations and field measurements for contract docs and pay items.
• Maintain accurate project documentation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
