Job summary

Horner & Shifrin in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Senior Roadway Project Manager to lead roadway and highway projects, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to grow our Transportation practice across Utah and the western United States while contributing to project delivery and staff development.

You will manage multiple projects, coordinate with clients and municipal partners, and ensure schedules and budgets are met.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant transportation engineering experience.
• Experience with Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and local municipalities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients and staff at all levels.
• Lead, mentor, manage, and schedule project teams to meet objectives.
• Oversee multiple projects to maintain schedules and budgets.
• Lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects.
• Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare engineering reports, studies, and technical documentation.
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships.
• Expand client relationships and support business development efforts throughout Utah.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously to maintain schedules and budgets
• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway improvement projects
• Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
• Prepare engineering reports, studies, and technical documentation
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships
• Expand client relationships and support business development efforts throughout Utah

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 10+ years of relevant transportation engineering experience
• Experience working directly with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and local municipalities
• Existing client and business development relationships within Utah
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Experience using MicroStation
• Knowledge of at least one highway design package (OpenRoads, GeoPak, or Civil 3D)
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

SALARY RANGE

Horner & Shifrin offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $155,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will be based on their unique combination of skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
