Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Roadway Project Manager to lead transportation infrastructure programs across North Carolina. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and profitability while fostering client relationships with state and local agencies.

You’ll mentor staff, support business development, ensure compliance with NCDOT and AASHTO standards, and contribute to Jacobs’ growth in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain NC licensure within six months.
• Significant experience managing transportation infrastructure projects.
• Experience tracking project invoicing, including billable hours, expenses, and milestones.
• Proven experience with NCDOT, municipal agencies, counties, MPOs/RPOs, and other transportation clients.
• Willingness to travel occasionally throughout North Carolina for project-related meetings and client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and profitability.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and resources to meet project objectives.
• Develop project work plans, staffing strategies, fee estimates, and schedules.
• Oversee project delivery to ensure compliance with NCDOT, local agency, and AASHTO standards.
• Manage subconsultants and support technical quality throughout project development and plan production.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
• Support business development activities, including opportunity tracking, proposal development, interviews, and presentations.
• Mentor and support the professional growth of team members.
• Collaborate with internal teams to advance Jacobs’ transportation services across North Carolina.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, sustainability, and client service.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related meetings and engagements.
