Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an experienced roadway engineer for full-time work across Virginia, Maryland, and DC locations. You will serve as design lead on transportation projects, preparing designs, specs, cost estimates, and stamped construction documents for roadway improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree, has 12+ years of industry experience, and a PE license with the ability to obtain Maryland licensure within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum of twelve (12) years of industry experience.
• PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a design lead for department of transportation and/or municipal transportation improvement projects.
• Preparing/reviewing designs, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway projects.
• Preparing construction documents including stamping finalized plans for roadway projects.
• Ensuring transportation group and Mead & Hunt policies and procedures are followed.
• Preparing task and contract technical and price proposals.
• Managing project and contracts deliverables, budget and schedules.
• Leading business development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Other civil engineering projects in other locations as needed.
