Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program; master's degree preferred
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within six months through comity from another state
• 16+ years of progressive experience related to highway engineering including experience with VDOT
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple assignments
• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design on assigned projects including planning and design
• Supervise the design efforts of junior engineers
• Coordinate with other design disciplines to develop project deliverables
• Develop roadway plans and profiles, traffic design, and construction plans
• Engage with clients and subconsultants to manage project development and deliverables
