Job summary

LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to support and grow our Transportation Practice.

You will lead roadway design efforts from preliminary to final design and collaborate with clients, project managers, and DOT staff to deliver safe, efficient infrastructure. The role requires a civil engineering degree and a PE license with NC preference; 10–20 years in transportation design and strong leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• DOT design project experience.
• Project management, scheduling, budgeting and cost estimating.
• Leadership, mentoring, and cross-discipline collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages.
• Coordinate with client staff, project managers, and DOT personnel.
• Mentor junior engineers and support design teams.
• Contribute to design-build and traditional design-bid-build projects.
