LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager to lead transportation projects within our Transportation Practice.

You will manage scope, fees, and profitability while serving as the client contact and coordinating with sub-consultants and internal teams. The role requires a NC PE within the first year and at least 10 years in engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• P.E. license required, NC PE preferred; candidates will be expected to obtain NC PE within the first year.
• At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
• Experience working on DOT design projects is required; experience with multiple DOTs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects as well as a portfolio of projects.
• Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
• Assists in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
• Guides and coordinates all internal transportation disciplines, with sub-consultants, and clients.
• Responsible for PMI knowledge areas across project phases.
