Job summary

Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver and coordinate patient care for long-term acute care patients. You will implement the nursing process, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with physicians and staff to optimize outcomes.

Requirements include RN licensure, BCLS, and 6 months of Medical/Surgical experience; ACLS preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary certificate, diploma, or program graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse licensure in state of practice (or compact state).
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required; ACLS preferred.
• Six months of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred in acute care.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation).
• Develop and coordinate nursing care plans with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff.
• Communicate patient condition changes to physicians and team; participate in discharge planning.
• Provide education on pain management and treatment plans to patients and families.
• Administer medications using the five rights; ensure proper documentation.
• Assist physicians with procedures and maintain safety and infection control.
• Participate in orientation and training of new personnel; maintain equipment safely.
