Job summary

The Alden Network in Illinois is seeking an experienced RN/LPN to provide direct nursing care and supervise daily assistance by nursing aides. You will ensure care standards align with federal and state guidelines, and coordinate with physicians and families to maintain high-quality care.

You will plan and supervise nursing procedures, maintain a positive departmental environment, and participate in ongoing staff education and care planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• CPR certification required or obtained within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Interest or knowledge in elder care.
• Must read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to interact tactfully with customers, families, staff and authorities.
• Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities by CNAs.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, local standards and facility policies.
• Plan and supervise nursing procedures, ensuring policies are followed.
• Maintain a warm, calm department atmosphere and participate in staff development.
• Medicate, chart, and document as ordered; coordinate with physicians and family.
• Attend care plan conferences and communicate concerns to the Administrator.
• Complete admissions, transfers, and discharge processes; participate in rounds.
• Order medications and treatments per budget; maintain accurate records.
