Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to shape the RL post-training frameworks strategy and lead a distributed engineering team spanning research, product, and open-source collaborations.

You will steer investments, measure impact, and drive durable upstream improvements across frameworks like VeRL, Miles, Slime, SkyRL, TorchTitan, and related runtimes such as Megatron-Core, Ray, Monarch, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems, AI frameworks, ML infrastructure, HPC, or systems software, with 4+ years as an engineering manager
• Strong technical background in distributed AI systems, able to reason across training, inference, orchestration, and end-to-end performance
• Experience defining domain-level technical strategy and multi-team execution plans
• Ability to drive work across organizational boundaries and communicate tradeoffs to senior leaders
• Experience hiring and leading engineering teams and creating staffing plans for evolving domains
• Experience establishing workflows, success criteria, metrics, or decision gates
• Background collaborating with open-source communities, research teams, external partners, or customer-facing teams

Responsibilities

• Define and execute RL post-training frameworks strategy and priorities
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning research, product, DevRel, hardware, and software
• Build and coach engineering managers and senior ICs, with clear ownership and delivery goals
• Collaborate with upstream/open-source communities to deliver durable improvements
