Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead RL post-training frameworks strategy, build the team, and align cross-functional partners across researchers, model builders, and external collaborators.

You will steer RL frameworks such as VeRL, Miles, Slime, and SkyRL while coordinating with Megatron-Core, Ray, Monarch, NIXL, SGLang, Kubernetes, CUDA, and other NVIDIA platform libraries. This role demands senior-level leadership and a deep systems background.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems, AI frameworks, ML infrastructure, high-performance computing, or systems software, with 4+ years as an engineering manager for software teams
• Strong technical background in distributed AI systems, including training, inference, orchestration, and end-to-end performance
• Experience defining domain-level technical strategy, build-vs-buy or upstream-vs-internal decisions, and multi-team execution plans
• Ability to drive engineering work across organizational boundaries and communicate tradeoffs to senior leaders

Responsibilities

• Lead the RL post-training frameworks strategy and prioritization based on impact, ecosystem leverage, and feasibility
• Converge on integrations to improve framework quality and user value, and translate decisions into measurable execution plans
• Build and develop managers and senior ICs, and create an effective US/APAC operating model
• Coach engineers to contribute credibly in open-source ecosystems and manage upstream work
• Drive cross-organization collaboration and establish clear ownership and delivery goals
