SAIC is seeking a Senior Riverbed System Engineer to act as a senior technical authority for Riverbed performance monitoring and network visibility across enterprise environments at MacDill AFB, FL. The role covers design, implementation, cybersecurity compliance, and lifecycle management of Riverbed technologies excluding SteelHead WAN optimization appliances.

Responsibilities include architecture design, cross-domain compliance, automation scripting, and mentorship.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong foundation in network and performance monitoring, including TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow/sFlow, APM, and NPM.
• Proficient in administering Windows and Linux servers and managing virtualized environments (e.g., VMware).
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash with REST APIs for automation and integration.
• Experience with Splunk, ServiceNow, and SQL databases for logging, reporting, workflows.
• Experience supporting multi-enclave architectures (NIPR/SIPR; SOCRATES).

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and document secure Riverbed monitoring architectures and data flows across NIPR, SIPR, and SOCRATES enclaves.
• Engineer scalable deployments for hybrid, virtual, and physical infrastructures with enclave segmentation and cross-domain compliance.
• Integrate Riverbed platforms with SIEM, ITSM, cybersecurity, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Provide Tier II/III engineering support including root cause analysis and war-room support.
• Administer configuration, health monitoring, performance tuning, upgrades, patching, backups, and DR validation.
• Maintain RBAC, auditing, configuration management, and change control for reliable monitoring servers and data collection.
• Ensure interoperability across Windows and Linux environments and resolve subsystem compatibility issues.
• Monitor and analyze application, network, and endpoint performance to identify and mitigate impacts.
• Develop dashboards and reports; recommend actions to reduce latency and incidents.
• Optimize alert thresholds and monitoring policies for better signal-to-noise ratio.
• Maintain DoD cybersecurity compliance including STIGs and enclave baselines; support ATO lifecycle activities.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, diagrams, and runbooks; produce recurring operational reports for leadership.
• Coordinate with Network, Cybersecurity, Systems, and Application teams; mentor junior staff.
• Use scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate monitoring, administration, and reporting tasks.
