Job summary

Compass Point, an Akima company, seeks a Riverbed Engineer SME to serve as the senior technical authority for monitoring and optimization across DoD enclaves at MacDill AFB. You will design secure architectures, integrate Riverbed tools with SIEM and ITSM, and lead performance monitoring initiatives.

You will provide Tier II/III support, manage system health, upgrades, and DR testing while ensuring RBAC and compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required.
• DoDD 8570 01-M IAT II, CompTIA Security+.
• DoW8140 compliant under Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Advanced level.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience or Master’s with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability in performance optimization and system engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Design secure Riverbed monitoring architectures across enclaves (NIPR, SIPR, SOCRATES).
• Provide Tier II/III engineering support and root cause analysis.
• Perform software upgrades, patching, backups, and DR validation.
• Maintain RBAC and auditing policies; support change boards (CCB).
• Coordinate with Network, Cybersecurity, Systems, and Application teams.
