Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a Staff River Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team focused on water resource projects. You will design river and habitat restoration, perform hydraulic modeling, collect field data, and prepare technical reports.

The role requires 1D/2D modeling experience (HEC-RAS/SRH-2D), proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and strong communication skills. Travel across regional offices is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with hydrologic/hydraulic emphasis; Master’s preferred.
• Internship or relevant experience encouraged.
• Proficiency with 1D/2D hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, SRH-2D).
• Knowledge of flow analyses, scour, fish habitat in channel design.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation/InRoads, ArcGIS and hydrologic data tools.
• Fluvial geomorphology, geology, biology knowledge is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication; willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Design water resource projects including river restoration and hydraulic analyses.
• Collect field data and provide construction observations.
• Run hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies.
• Prepare design drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Develop technical reports and support channel restoration designs.
