Job summary

Amazon seeks a Risk Manager to lead data-driven detection and investigative efforts across our Inventory Trust program. You will improve model accuracy, craft rapid risk rules, and investigate bad actor networks end-to-end, partnering with science and engineering teams to close detection gaps.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on investigative experience, scaling complex detection programs to protect customers and selling partners.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in large-scale datasets.
• 5+ years of root cause analysis and process design experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in supply chain security, including management of third-party logistics, law enforcement, or investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep dives on detection model performance and identify signal gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Develop recommendations for feature engineering, threshold tuning, and signal integration.
• Own end-to-end root cause analysis on detection defects and escalations to identify systemic gaps.
• Analyze escalation patterns to identify blind spots and prioritize coverage expansion.
• Build and deploy rapid risk-detection rulesets addressing emerging fraud patterns and intelligence leads.
• Translate external intelligence into actionable detection queries and monitoring rules.
• Continuously monitor and sunset ineffective rulesets based on hit rates and outcomes.
• Perform full-sweep investigations on bad actor rings across networks and locations.
