Job summary

Crossell in Chicago is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer – West Central Region to act as a technical authority in property risk engineering for NA programs. Based in Chicago, you will partner with underwriters, brokers and customers to deliver risk engineering services across domestic and international programs.

You will lead strategic risk advisories, service multinational accounts, review assessments, and develop loss prevention plans with a focus on NatCat exposures and business interruption.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of property risk engineering experience with a reputable provider.
• Property loss prevention and control experience in NA Commercial Insurance Market.
• Combined field engineer and account engineer experience with large, complex accounts.
• Deep knowledge of property construction, fire protection systems, and human element programs.
• Strong expertise in NatCat exposures (Earthquake, Flood, Windstorm) and related perils.
• Understanding of business interruption exposure (CBI, IBI) aligned with industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic advisor to underwriting and clients, delivering insight-driven decisions.
• Lead account servicing for multinational and domestic corporate clients as primary technical contact.
• Review, interpret, and summarize risk assessments from various sources.
• Collaborate with underwriters on risk quality and exposure for existing and new business.
• Develop risk engineering proposals and quotations on global programs.
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and operations reviews to verify mitigation.
