Job summary

Lusternational is seeking Senior Right-of-Way Engineers to support large transit capital programs including light rail and bus corridors. You will focus on right-of-way plans, parcel maps, and easement documentation, coordinating across design, survey, acquisition, and construction to ensure property is available when crews need it.

This role involves reviewing plans, staying aligned with program milestones, and guiding less experienced staff while delivering compliant, auditable documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of right-of-way engineering for large, complex projects.
• Experience reviewing right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, parcel maps, and easement exhibits.

Responsibilities

• Review right-of-way plans, parcel maps, legal descriptions, and easement exhibits.
• Oversee ROW deliverables through agency review and approval, resolving comments.
• Evaluate design changes for ROW impact and advise on acquisition risk and schedule.
• Coordinate temporary and permanent easements, rights of entry, and access agreements.
• Oversee title research, boundary resolution, and record-of-survey work.
• Analyze utility relocations, franchise agreements, and third-party interests.
• Coordinate street vacations, property transfers, and rights within ROW.
• Review documentation for milestones tied to funding, environmental clearance, and audits.
• Coordinate with acquisition agents, appraisers, legal counsel, and agency staff to align parcel delivery with schedule.
• Support construction on property rights interpretation and temporary easements.
• Mentor less experienced ROW engineers and review their work.
