Luster National, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Right of Way Engineer to support large transit capital programs, including rail corridors and guideways.

The role focuses on right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, parcel and easement documentation, and coordination across design, survey, acquisition and construction. The position is part of our talent pool for upcoming needs, with an emphasis on mentorship of junior engineers and ensuring compliance with program standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of right-of-way engineering experience for large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience reviewing right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, parcel maps, and easement exhibits.
• Knowledge of boundary law, title research, and federal/state right-of-way regulations, including the Uniform Act.
• Experience coordinating with acquisition agents, appraisers, surveyors, and legal counsel.
• Ability to pass a background check and site safety orientation.

Responsibilities

• Review right-of-way plans and parcel maps to ensure alignment with rights needed.
• Oversee deliverables through agency review and closure.
• Evaluate design changes for right-of-way impact and advise on acquisition risk.
• Coordinate easements, rights-of-entry, and access agreements for construction sequencing.
• Oversee title research and record-of-survey work and review findings.
• Coordinate across acquisition agents, appraisers, surveyors, utility owners, railroads, and counsel.
• Mentor junior staff and review technical work for accuracy.
