Job summary

AEP is seeking a Distribution ROW Supervisor to lead and manage land rights activities, ensuring alignment with policy guidelines. You will supervise ROW personnel, oversee the acquisition of easements, and coordinate with distribution engineering on project needs, while ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

The role requires extensive experience in right of way procurement, surveying or title research, plus a valid driver license and notary commission, with willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or a high school diploma with related experience in right of way procurement, surveying, title research or related area.
• 8 years’ experience in right of way procurement, surveying, title research or related area.
• Driver license and Notary Commission are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all AEP and contract Right of Way personnel assigned in securing land and land rights.
• Formulate policy and procedures governing the acquisition of land rights, easements forms, other document forms and public work projects.
• Plan, organize, and supervise all personnel including contractors involved with the acquisition of land rights for distribution projects.
• Supervise preparation of documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other legal documents.
• Direct the settlement of damages caused by construction and management of right of way projects.
• Approve vouchers for payment of expenses related to land rights acquisitions.
• Supervise the creation and maintenance of right of way maps and records.
• Promote and enforce safety practices and coordinate with Distribution Engineering on easement requirements.
