Job summary

American Electric Power in Ohio is seeking a Distribution Right of Way (ROW) Supervisor to lead land rights acquisition across OPCo territories. You will supervise ROW personnel, advise management on policy, and ensure compliance with AEP easement guidelines while protecting existing rights.

The role oversees documentation, settlements for damages, and coordination with Distribution Engineering. Travel across OPCo territory is required, with emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, paralegal, real estate, engineering or related field; or a high school diploma with 2 years in ROW procurement.
• 8 years of ROW procurement, surveying or title research experience.
• Driver license and Notary Commission required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ROW personnel for securing land and land rights.
• Formulate policy and procedures for land rights acquisition.
• Plan and supervise personnel including contractors for land rights.
• Prepare documents for rights of entry, easements, leases and permits.
• Direct settlements of damages from construction.
• Prepare requisitions or work orders for ROW projects.
• Approve vouchers for land-rights expenses.
• Oversee ROW maps and records.
• Promote safety practices per AEP programs.
• Oversee distribution easement requirements with Distribution Engineering.

Education

Associate’s degree in business, paralegal, real estate, engineering or related field

High school diploma with 2 years’ experience in right of way procurement, surveying, title research or related area
