Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Senior System and Infrastructure Support Engineer to administer, secure, and sustain the backend infrastructure for an IGA solution in a regulated federal IT environment.

You will perform advanced RHEL administration, patching, hardening, and service management, while collaborating with developers and operations to enable new functionality and releases. Must have US citizenship and be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of progressive system administration or enterprise IT operations experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in regulated environments.
• Advanced experience administering Linux systems, including server configuration, patching, package management, services, and storage.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Linux security controls, including access permissions and SELinux configuration.

Responsibilities

• Administer and sustain RHEL servers including installation, patching, and service management.
• Perform secure OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and rollback planning with documented procedures.
• Manage Linux security controls, firewall configuration, and certificate handling.
• Develop Bash scripts to automate health checks, log collection, and deployment support.
• Maintain Apache Tomcat or similar Java web server deployments and performance monitoring.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure dependencies affecting IGA operations (DNS, TLS, routing, proxies).
• Collaborate with developers to translate requirements into infrastructure changes and validate performance.
• Handle incidents, service requests, changes, and documentation in ServiceNow.
• Support ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change-management processes.
