Job summary

SpaceX Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Principal RFIC Design Engineer (Starshield Silicon) to develop cutting-edge RFICs for space and ground infrastructures. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to iteratively move designs from concept to production, supporting national security missions.

The role requires leadership in RF/analog/mixed-signal IC design, packaging, and testing, with travel as needed. Active clearance and willingness for long hours are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science.
• 8+ years of professional RFIC experience.
• Master's or PhD preferred with RF/analog/mixed-signal focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems.
• Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits.
• Develop analog/mixed-signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe, GaAs, GaN, or CMOS.
• Collaborate with system architects, DSP/ASIC engineers to partition HW/SW.
• Perform IC floor planning and layout.
• Own packaging prototypes and production release; model parasitics.
• Evaluate and characterize prototypes; assist in automated test equipment.
• Work with manufacturing on production testing and qualification.
