Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Principal RF Software Engineer (Starshield) to advance RF capabilities for national security applications. You will join a collaborative team across RF, DSP, hardware, and software to rapidly iterate from design to operational capability.

The role requires leading design and validation of RF test infrastructure, plus proficiency in C/C++ or Python, and a strong RF/communication systems background. On-site position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of professional development experience in C/C++ or Python.
• Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and vector analyzers.
• RF experience with antennas or communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, validate, and automate RF test benches for full characterization of RF designs and lab equipment.
• Design and build modular RF test infrastructure and test automation sequences in Python and C++.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software engineers to validate RF systems.
• Create electromagnetic simulation models of hardware to evaluate performance.
