pSemi Corporation, a Murata company in San Diego, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to lead AI-enabled RFIC design automation and advanced RF front end ICs for 5G flagship devices. You will define requirements, mentor engineers, and drive cross-functional programs across the product lifecycle.

The role involves architecture, layout, testing, and collaboration with software, AI, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance RF modules and evolving AI-driven methodologies.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in RFIC design and product development with concept-to-production ownership.
• Expertise in RFSOI, bulk CMOS, BiCMOS with LNAs, RF switches, PAs.
• Strong analog biasing and control circuitry knowledge.
• Excellent RF design/analysis: S-parameters, NF, stability, harmonics, IIP2/IIP3.
• CMOS device understanding related to circuit and product tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to lead technical development and mentor engineers.
• Advanced RF IC layout techniques and physical design considerations.
• Programming/scripting for automation; Python preferred.
• Experience applying design-flow automation in RF engineering workflows.
• Familiar with generative AI/LLMs in engineering contexts.
• Ability to validate AI results with proper review methods.
• Clear technical documentation and communication.
• Proficiency with RF IC EDA tools (Cadence, Keysight, EM simulators).

Responsibilities

• Lead RFIC architecture and design strategy across performance, power, area, cost, and schedule.
• Mentor design team members; plan resources, priorities, risk, and execution.
• Develop AI-enabled RFIC design automation methodologies to improve efficiency and time to market.
• Identify and implement EDA workflow orchestration, simulation, design-space exploration, verification, and debugging.
• Collaborate with software/AI engineers to create scalable engineering workflows.
• Develop ICs in RF SOI and other suitable technologies for RF frontend platforms.
• Lead product design activities: schematic, layout, simulation, testing, release.
• Document design methods and educate others on novel techniques.
• Lead cross-functional teams to meet milestones and resolve critical issues.
• Explore AI opportunities to improve RFIC development; run proof-of-concept studies.
• Coordinate with Applications, Characterization, Product, Test, and Manufacturing to address field issues.
