Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Sr. Engineer, Test Engineering and Automation in Frederick, MD to drive automated test solutions for RF-centric products.

You will blend hardware, firmware, software, and instrumentation expertise to deliver robust test capabilities and data-driven insights. The role emphasizes leadership, complex troubleshooting, and collaboration with RF, Digital/FPGA, Embedded Software, Systems, Manufacturing, and Program teams, with flexible onsite/hybrid options and 9/80 or 4/10

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in test engineering, automated test development, system integration, and verification/validation.
• Proficiency in automated test software development using Python.
• Experience with ATE and software-based test frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with electronic hardware in labs and RF/test equipment.
• Understanding of Windows/Linux environments and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategies, acceptance criteria, plans, procedures, and reports for RF-centric products.
• Create, integrate, and maintain automated test solutions and ATE.
• Develop automated test software using Python, LabVIEW, and related tools.
• Architect reusable software, instrument-control capabilities, and common test frameworks.
• Interface with RF/test equipment (analyzers, generators, meters, oscilloscopes).
• Lead product/system integration, verification/validation, and regression testing.
