Job summary

Amazon Leo is a satellite broadband initiative, seeking a Sr. RF Comms Systems Engineer in Austin, TX to lead system bring-up, integration and testing. You will work across PHY/MAC, RF design, digital beamforming, and firmware teams to ensure conformance with 3GPP standards.

You will architect tests for satellite-to-ground links, verify Doppler compensation concepts, and perform RF/IF payload verification in a lab setting using spectrum analyzers, channel emulators, and signal generators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 7+ years in L1/L2 or beamforming or RF systems.
• Experience with RF lab equipment, bring-up, test and integration activities.
• Verification and integration on FPGA is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead bring-up, integration, and debugging of advanced PHY/MAC and beamforming radio systems for satellite comms.
• Architect, document, and execute 3GPP-based testing for satellite-to-ground networks; define equipment requirements.
• Collaborate across PHY, RF, MAC, firmware teams to ensure seamless integration and high wireless performance.
• Trade link budget and verify RF line-up for payloads in RF/IF configurations.
• Characterize performance, analyze data, and debug system-level issues for high product quality.
• Develop bring-up procedures with Linux, Python, and scripting; work with lab equipment.
