Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies in Palo Alto seeks a Senior Staff RF Systems Engineer to anchor the wireless ecosystem across 5G/Cellular, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GNSS, and V2X for radio-centric ECUs.

You will design and simulate RF systems, own homologation strategy up to FCC/RED, set validation standards, and bridge silicon design to global launches. Three days onsite in Palo Alto reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, RF/Communications, or related field with 10+ years of RF design, test, and certification experience.

Responsibilities

• RF Design & Product Development: design, simulate, prototype RF products and modules for automotive ECUs while selecting components and packaging within the ECU enclosure.
• Global Homologation Leadership: own end-to-end RF certification strategy across FCC, RED/CE and US carrier certifications; lead regional homologation execution.
• RF Validation & Test Strategy: define test strategy, establish measurement methodologies, pass/fail criteria and ensure cross-program consistency.
• Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership: mentor engineers; translate RF data to actionable insight for non-RF stakeholders and executives.
