Job summary

Rivian VW Group Technologies in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced RF test engineer to own automated test solutions for RF ECUs, integrating Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, and GNSS test flows.

You will collaborate with RF, antenna, and electronics teams, define test strategies, and drive bring-up and manufacturing tests, leveraging Python automation and AI-assisted coding to ensure robust, scalable test systems.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical, Electronics or RF Engineering.
• 5+ years designing automated test equipment for RF/wireless products.
• Hands-on experience with two or more wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, GNSS).
• Experience with RF test instrumentation and hardware-instrumentation integration.
• Proficient in Python; AI-assisted automation is a plus.
• Ability to read schematics and RF layouts; familiarity with automotive protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of automated RF test solutions for connectivity and vehicle access ECUs.
• Design and build automated test equipment for Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, and GNSS, including OTA setups.
• Work with RF/antenna teams to define test requirements and strategies.
• Provide system requirements to software/hardware teams including calibration strategies.
• Develop Python test sequences within our automation framework; ensure code quality and validation.
• Integrate firmware, hardware and software end-to-end for DUT bring-up and test modes.
• Build test solutions for reliability lab settings and high-volume manufacturing.
• Create documented test cases, calibration procedures, and operating procedures.
• Lead deployment using GR&R, CPK, stress testing and fault injection at contract manufacturers and Rivian.
• Collaborate with validation, EMC, regulatory, and product launch teams to meet requirements.
