Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer/RF Engineer to support FAA Spectrum Engineering Services. The role focuses on investigating RF interference, performing spectrum analysis, and conducting field RDF with industry test equipment.

You will work on mission-critical CNS systems across the NAS, both on-site and in the field. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of RF experience, a technical degree, travel willingness, and strong report writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in RF engineering or wireless systems.
  • Experience with RF interference investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, receivers, generators, meters).
  • Knowledge of RF propagation, antenna theory, EMI.
  • Willingness to travel and valid driver's license; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate RF interference affecting mission-critical systems on-site and remotely.
  • Operate spectrum analyzers and related equipment to identify emissions and measure spectrum.
  • Perform Radio Direction Finding using directional antennas and GPS mapping.
  • Document findings, propose corrective actions, and verify mitigation.
  • Support field investigations and drive testing as needed.
