Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – RF SATCOM near Paso Robles, California, with 5+ years in engineering and strong SATCOM experience. The role covers real-time O&M, fault isolation, and cross‑functional support across complex hardware‑software systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in SATCOM / Receive Facility communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware system, including knowledge of various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/link/network analyzers, power meters, and signal generation equipment.
• Experience with Customer-built and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) based high-speed networks, IT systems, and real-time software applications supporting communication systems.
• Experience adhering to administrative, safety and security policies.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide O&M support to a large, integrated hardware‑software SATCOM system in real‑time operations.
• Perform discrepancy reporting, problem resolution, data collection, and fault isolation.
• Develop procedures, provide training/mentoring, and prepare customer briefs on performance.
• Maintain safety, security, and administration compliance across multi‑tiered network interfaces.
• Support test activities, adaptation of configurations, and cross‑training of personnel.
