Job summary

GreenWave Radios, based in San Diego, CA, seeks an RF Power Amplifier Design Engineer to drive ultra‑high‑efficiency PA development for 5G base stations. You will lead from concept to volume production, collaborating with systems, RF/analog, digital and firmware teams.

The role requires 6+ years of hands‑on RF PA experience, expertise in Doherty/out‑phasing/active load modulation, and strong RF test skills. Competitive base pay and stock options accompany a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of direct, hands‑on RF discrete PA design experience.
• Experience across full high‑efficiency PA development cycle: device selection, evaluation & modeling, circuit design, simulation, PCB layout and parasitic extraction, and lab bring‑up.

Responsibilities

• Develop ultra‑high‑efficiency RF power amplifiers for 5G FR1 base station solutions.
• Evaluate and adapt transistors and amplifiers (GaN/GaAs/LDMOS) for PA designs.
• Design, simulate, debug, and evaluate RF PAs; present results to peers and stakeholders.
• Extract empirical data to hone design targets.
• Collaborate with Systems, RF/Analog, Digital, and Firmware engineers to deliver a complete base station solution.
• Own PA designs through volume production and resolve issues.
• Document designs and train peers, integrators, and customers.
