Job summary

Peraton Labs in Maryland is seeking a poly cleared Principal RF Research Scientist to lead RFML, DSP, and SDR R&D for a government customer near College Park. You will serve as a technical leader, driving development from concept through prototype and shaping new work through whitepapers and technical proposals.

This full-time, on-site role involves designing and prototyping RF sensing/communications solutions, evaluating DSP algorithms, applying ML approaches, and delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• 12+ years on BS, 10+ on MS, or 8+ on PhD in CS or related field; alternate 16 years total allowed.
• Deep knowledge in RFML, DSP, or SDR prototyping.
• Strong RF fundamentals: modulation, noise, synchronization.
• Hands-on Python/C/C++ in SCIF environment.
• Prototype validation with SDR hardware and RF test setups.
• Ability to communicate complex technical work to stakeholders.
• DoD/IC customer engagement and proposal experience.
• US Citizenship and active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and prototyping of RF sensing/communication solutions.
• Develop and evaluate DSP algorithms for real-world RF environments.
• Apply ML approaches to RF problems and produce reproducible results.
• Implement prototypes in Python/C/C++ and test on SDR platforms.
• Coordinate with government customers and draft technical volumes.
• Mentor junior staff and define technical direction.
