Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX is seeking a principal PCB design engineer to lead RF/microwave and high-speed PCB layout projects. You will work with cross‑functional product teams to deliver robust hardware solutions and mentor junior designers.

The role requires deep expertise in grounding, shielding and transmission lines, plus hands‑on experience with power and high‑current analog layouts, and the ability to collaborate across Emerson’s global engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on PCB layout experience.
• Specialized RF/microwave PCB design knowledge including grounding, shielding, and transmission lines.
• Experience with high-speed/high-density digital and high-power/high-current analog layouts.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with principal and chief engineers in hardware roles to enhance project outcomes.
• Independently complete RF/microwave and other complex layout projects per inputs from the product team.
• Mentor junior engineers in the PCB design process and foster professional development.
• Independently evaluate and learn new PCB design tools & technologies.
• Accommodate occasional evening meetings for training, mentorship, collaboration, and design review.
