Job summary

Wenzel is seeking a Senior RF/Microwave Design Engineer in Austin, TX, on-site. You will design high-frequency RF/microwave circuits and systems for aerospace, space, and quantum applications, guiding projects from concept to validation.

You will lead a small team, collaborate with customers, and drive testing, integration, and verification. A decade of related experience and strong Altium/Jira/Confluence skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave design with independent work capability.
• Extensive experience with RF/microwave circuits, subsystems, and systems.
• EMI/EMC analysis and IPC standards exposure.
• Experience with manufacturing hardware for aerospace/space environments.
• PCB layouts using Altium and related tools; experience in layout-to-build cycle.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test RF/microwave solutions for aerospace, space, defense, and quantum applications.
• Design modules to systems operating to 50 GHz and beyond.
• Develop DROs, LNAs, amplifiers, filters, mixers, PLLs, and synthesizers.
• Lead customer interactions to decompose requirements into design specs.
• Support PCB layout and hardware builds; lead testing and validation.
• Lead/participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Develop procedures for standards compliance and project plans.
