Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior RF/Microwave Engineer for its Starlink satellites in the Redmond, WA area. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and verifying high-performance RF hardware for satellites and ground systems, partnering with diverse engineering teams to deliver scalable communications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive RF design experience, proficiency with 3D EM simulators, and hands-on skills in MATLAB, Python, and C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in RF/microwave circuit design.
• Experience with 3D EM simulation tools (CST, HFSS, FEKO, SEMCAD, EMPro, TICRA or XFDTD).

Responsibilities

• Simulate and model communication systems.
• Work with system architects, RF, antenna, DSP/ASIC teams to partition hardware/software functions.
• Derive top-level RF link and subsystem specifications.
• Characterize and analyze system performance.
• Provide technical support to regulatory, coordination, and market access teams.
