Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace-EDS seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive RF/high-speed PCB layouts and advanced electronic packaging. You will oversee ECAD tools (Xpedition, Altium, PADS) and ensure manufacturability, reliability, and quality across complex designs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Design Engineering in San Diego, you will mentor teams, conduct design reviews, and collaborate across mechanical and electrical disciplines to deliver high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences/engineering/mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Generate circuit layouts and drawings from inputs (schematics, diagrams).
• Incorporate ECAD changes using Xpedition/Altium/PADS for ECAD; AutoCAD for 2D; SolidWorks/NX for MCAD.
• Prepare parts lists and enter data into PLM systems (Agile/Teamcenter).
• Interface with Engineering to define mechanical assembly approaches for manufacturing.
• Support basic engineering calculations for RF/DC impedance, temperature rise, and voltage drop.
• Collaborate in team meetings and participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities.
• Perform design reviews and provide clear presentations of designs.
